Hello, I use S3drive for pcloud, but on my iPad (IPadOS 18.1) after I upload some videos, I noticed S3drive occupied more than 10gb. I wonder if there’s a way to delete cache? Also, just I quick question, is it possible to implement background upload for manual file upload together with live activities function? Thank you! (edited)
Hi, thanks for your feedback.
We plan to improve bridge between iOS <> S3Drive <> Rclone, so it doesn't create temporary files when uploading files, but would rather stream them directly. In such case cache data wouldn't have to be created in a first place, so no cache to clear.
In your example it seems like S3Drive failed to delete cache files after file was uploaded, we'll look into this issue.
If there isn't any option to delete cache on your end, the alternative would be to wipe application data (but that might delete your session, settings, offline files), so only use it as a last resort or backup your settings first (e.g. by using export feature in the Profiles).
Regarding background uploads/downloads (or other operations) on iOS, that's something we plan working on, but realistically speaking that wouldn't be earlier than Q3 2025. Given our experience with iOS / background processing, this item is certainly not a small feat.
Before then there are plenty other features which we believe makes sense to implement earlier.
I hope you're not disappointed, but we really bend over backwards to deliver new features as soon as possible. (edited)
